About Apollo Go
Apollo Go is Baidu's robotaxi service. Its home market is China, where it runs fully driverless rides booked in its own app, and Baidu's Q2 2026 results put it in 28 cities worldwide. Baidu reported 3.2M fully driverless rides in Q1 2026 alone, and more than 22M cumulative public rides as of April 2026. The Chinese cities share a single China page, and each overseas city gets its own.
Fully driverless public rides run in China and in two Gulf cities. The Apollo Go app launched in Dubai in March 2026, commercial service in Umm Suqeim and Jumeirah was announced on Apr 1, 2026, and from Aug 20, 2026 the same cars could also be booked on Uber. In Abu Dhabi, KrASIA reported a fully driverless public launch on Yas Island in January 2026 through the AutoGo app, with Reem, Al Maryah and Saadiyat islands planned next.
Testing is under way in two more places. Road tests with safety operators began in the Borough of Brent in London on Jul 28, 2026 with Freenow by Lyft, and public rides are expected in 2027 if approved. In Hong Kong, Apollo Go holds driverless testing permits and tests on Airport Island. Separately, AmiGo open-road testing with PostBus began in eastern Switzerland on Jun 1, 2026.
Booking and riding
How you book depends on the city. In China and Dubai you use the Apollo Go app. Dubai riders can also be matched with a fully driverless Apollo Go car on Uber when they request UberX, Uber Comfort or the Autonomous option, and a company called New Horizon runs that fleet. Abu Dhabi rides go through the AutoGo app, from Apollo Go's local partner. London has no public rides yet, so there's nothing to book there.
Residents of Hong Kong's Islands District get a short window. A free 14-day community trial in Tung Chung starts on Oct 21, 2026 with a backup operator on board, on a loop of about 5.1 km between Yat Tung Estate and Sheraton Tung Chung, as reported by Dimsum Daily. No age rules, luggage rules or fare tables have been published for Apollo Go, so check the app in your city before you ride. None of its cities offers airport pickups, and at Hong Kong International the cars test on Airport Island without public riders.
Recalls and investigations
Apollo Go has no recalls or investigations on record. Everything logged for it so far is a launch, a test start or an announcement: Abu Dhabi in January 2026, Dubai on Apr 1, 2026 and on Uber from Aug 20, 2026, London testing from Jul 28, 2026, and the Tung Chung trial in Hong Kong. A recall, investigation or incident report from a checked source would go into the safety log with its date and source.
