Riding Pony.ai in China
On that date Pony.ai's Gen-7 vehicles entered commercial service in all three cities with nobody at the wheel. The fleet is growing fast. Pony.ai reported 1,975 robotaxis on June 30, 2026 and is targeting more than 3,500 by the end of the year. Service-area maps, fares and airport details haven't been published for any of the three cities.
Pony.ai's booking app in China hasn't been confirmed, and Uber isn't a listed channel. Before a trip, look up the current booking route for the city you're visiting. No source says whether foreign visitors can register.
Outside China, Pony.ai works through local partners, so the app changes by city. In Singapore it is booked free in ComfortDelGro's Zig app on a fixed Punggol route. In Doha it runs a fare-charging pilot with Mowasalat in the Karwa app, with safety operators on board. Uber riders in Zagreb can book Verne-operated Pony.ai cars with an operator behind the wheel. It has driverless trials in Dubai, and Gen-7 testing with Uber in London was announced on Oct 8, 2026. Compare it with Apollo Go and WeRide.
