Riding Pony.ai in Singapore
Book in the Zig app, ComfortDelGro's ride app, not Grab or Uber. The cars follow a fixed route in northern Punggol linking residential areas with Punggol Coast MRT, Punggol Coast Mall, One Punggol, Oasis Terrace and Punggol Plaza. Think of it as getting between home, the MRT and the shops rather than going anywhere in the city. TNGlobal and TechRepublic both reported that rides were free of charge in the current phase.
Neither Pony.ai nor ComfortDelGro has confirmed whether a safety operator rides along. Singapore's Land Transport Authority has said safety operators stay onboard. Nothing has been published on age limits, there's no airport service, and no date has been set for fares to begin.
The other Punggol option is WeRide's Ai.R, reserved via rideair.ai with Grab, which runs fixed routes on weekday daytime hours. Pony.ai's Zig route reaches Punggol Coast MRT and the malls, while WeRide's routes stay inside the residential estate. Pony.ai is a much bigger operation at home: it reported 1,975 robotaxis worldwide on June 30, 2026, with fully driverless service in China. In the Gulf, it runs a supervised paid pilot in Doha and driverless trials in Dubai.
