Where the cars go
Waymo's Denver zone, about 50 to 60 sq mi, spills past city limits. In the north it reaches the junction of U.S. 36 and I-25 and goes north of I-70 into Adams County, to just south of Thornton. The south edge runs from Washington Park to the tip of the University of Denver, including Cory-Merrill. To the west, a jagged line touches Sheridan Blvd, Sloan's Lake, Villa Park and a slice of Lakewood near Casa Bonita, while Central Park and City Park mark the east and a piece of Glendale is in too.
Inside are LoDo, RiNo, Capitol Hill and Cherry Creek, plus Empower Field at Mile High, Coors Field and Ball Arena. Denver International Airport is not served, and the airport says it is in conversations with Waymo. Cars avoid highways, according to Denverite.
What to know in Denver
Waymo is the only robotaxi operator serving Denver. It said on Jul 8, 2026 it would soon begin employee-only operations here, then welcomed its first public riders on Sep 1, 2026, the same day as San Diego and Tampa. Access is rolling: people sign up in the Waymo app and are let in over time, so opening the app does not mean you can ride today.
Waymo hasn't published a Denver rate card. It says fares combine a minimum price, distance and time and can depend on demand, and a spokesperson told the Denver Gazette that 'Pricing is dynamic and comparable to other ride-hailing services.' The Waymo price page collects published rates from other cities.
